Resumen

El presente estudio abordó la relación entre la fatiga académica y la concentración en estudiantes de la carrera de Educación Básica de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo, extensión Quevedo. Se planteó como objetivo principal analizar el impacto de la sobrecarga académica y las condiciones emocionales sobre la atención sostenida en contextos universitarios.

Se aplicó un diseño cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo-correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 70 estudiantes, a quienes se les administró una escala de fatiga académica y la Prueba d2 de concentración. Los datos fueron procesados mediante análisis estadístico descriptivo e inferencial.

Los resultados indicaron que el 54,3 % de los estudiantes presentó niveles altos de fatiga académica, mientras que el 58,6 % obtuvo puntuaciones por debajo de la media estandarizada en concentración. Se evidenció una relación directa entre la fatiga y el deterioro atencional, especialmente en mujeres, y se identificaron factores moduladores como el sueño reparador, el uso de dispositivos digitales y la autorregulación emocional.

Se concluye que la fatiga académica afecta negativamente la concentración y el rendimiento cognitivo. Por ello, se recomienda implementar programas institucionales de acompañamiento psicológico, promoción de la higiene del sueño y fortalecimiento de estrategias de autocuidado emocional, con el fin de mejorar el bienestar y desempeño académico de los futuros docentes.
