Inglés para profesionales del turismo: estrategias de comunicación y vocabulario de alto nivel para una interacción global

Este capítulo busca proporcionar un análisis del inglés para Profesionales del Turismo dentro del marco del inglés para Fines Específicos (ESP), examinando fundamentos teóricos, patrones lingüísticos y aplicaciones prácticas a través de investigación documental sistemática. El análisis de la investigación examina el desarrollo teórico del ESP, desde enfoques fundamentados en registros hasta marcos pedagógicos modernos que han sido mejorados por la inteligencia artificial, señalando al inglés para fines turísticos (ETP) como una subdisciplina con requisitos comunicativos y metodológicos particulares. Se detectaron diez áreas clave mismas que reflejan la situación actual y las nuevas tendencias en la enseñanza del lenguaje específico para el turismo. Cabe recalcar que los hallazgos señalan que ha habido avances importantes en la incorporación de competencias comunicativas interculturales, en los patrones discursivos multimodales que caracterizan la comunicación profesional en el turismo actual, y en las implicaciones de la transformación digital. El análisis muestra que las formas antiguas de enseñar el inglés para Fines Específicos (ESP) en el sector turístico ya no son suficientes. Necesitan una gran actualización para poder adaptarse a varios puntos clave que hoy son esenciales: la diversidad cultural de los turistas, las exigencias de la atención al cliente y la promoción, y el gran uso de la tecnología actual. Esto es un cambio que no podemos ignorar. Sin embargo, poner al día la enseñanza no es nada fácil. Hay retos importantes que debemos superar.
