Estrategias educativas para la resiliencia y salud mental universitaria

La investigación abordó la alta prevalencia de ansiedad y depresión en estudiantes universitarios, problemática que afectó su bienestar integral y rendimiento académico. Se planteó como objetivo aplicar estrategias educativas que fortalecieran la resiliencia y la salud mental de los estudiantes de la carrera de Educación Básica de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo, Extensión Quevedo. El estudio se sustentó en teorías del aprendizaje socioemocional y de la neurociencia educativa, que reconocieron la relación entre procesos emocionales, cognitivos y contextuales en la formación universitaria.
El diseño metodológico fue de enfoque cuantitativo, con un estudio cuasi experimental aplicado a una muestra de estudiantes universitarios. Se implementaron asignaturas con crédito que integraron prácticas de mindfulness, neurociencia y técnicas de relajación muscular progresiva, con el fin de evaluar su impacto en la resiliencia y la salud mental.
Los resultados evidenciaron una reducción significativa en los niveles de ansiedad, depresión y estrés de los estudiantes, así como un incremento en la resiliencia, la autorregulación emocional y el compromiso académico. Asimismo, se observó una disminución en la intención de deserción universitaria y una mejora en la percepción de calidad de vida.
En conclusión, la incorporación de estrategias educativas basadas en mindfulness, neurociencia y técnicas de relajación constituye una alternativa viable y efectiva para fortalecer la salud mental y la resiliencia de los estudiantes universitarios, contribuyendo a un desempeño académico más sostenible.
