Abstract

Today biosafety is becoming an innovative approach to address complex social and tourism needs. The objective of this article is to provide an overview of how the correct application of biosafety protocols can contribute to the economic reactivation of the Quevedo Canton. The methodology used consisted in the collection of primary sources, which is why it was considered necessary to apply a survey focused to the population of Quevedo, to determine the application of biosafety protocols by each of the tourist attractions and the appreciation that the user has regarding the execution of these measures in the places visited. The Ministry of Tourism in order to reactivate the sector has developed biosafety protocols, which must be followed by the different tourist centers to provide security and confidence to users. Currently the flexibility of the restriction measures allows the Quevedeña population to visit the different tourist attractions of the Canton, the results obtained in the investigation determined that the most visited places at present are: Manila Park Center, Paintball, Las Cabañas de Felipao, Canopy and Ecologic Fresh, in all of them a level of compliance with the biosafety protocols can be evidenced at a medium and high level; Among the measures adopted to minimize the risk of contagion are: the use of masks, disinfection of hands and shoes, and taking the temperature.
