Comunicación intercultural en las relaciones interpersonales en la comunidad de afrodescendientes

Abstract

Intercultural communication in Afro-Ecuadorian communities makes it possible to effectively strengthen interpersonal relationships in the cultural diversity of peoples. The main objective of the study is to determine the influence of intercultural communication on the interpersonal relationships of the inhabitants of the Borbón parish, Eloy Alfaro canton of the Esmeraldas province, specifically, it sought to identify which are the types of intercultural communication, establish the advantages and disadvantages that affect intercultural communication, analyze the importance of intercultural communication when interacting with different cultures, where elements belonging to different cultures take advantage of cultural baggage as an enriching factor for knowledge and not as a barrier or cultural distancing. The quantitative, descriptive methodology, the inductive-deductive method from general to particular, in field work a virtual survey was carried out on an intentional sample of 54 people randomly in the selected community. It is concluded that the Afro-descendant community presents a positive attitude when interacting with people of different cultures, which strengthens the intercultural approach when interacting in diverse cultural environments. It is important to consider that tolerance and respect for the different is a norm of coexistence, through Promotion of programs and projects focused on intercultural communication for the rescue of native customs and traditions, in priority communities with tolerance, respect and norms of coexistence in the search to help improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
