ADAPTIVE TECHNIQUES AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE TEACHING PROCESS FOR STUDENTS WITH AUTISM
Additional Files
Abstract
Teaching techniques are specific strategies and methods that teachers use to transmit knowledge, facilitate learning and promote understanding. These techniques allow adapting to the particular needs of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), contributing to the creation of inclusive and dynamic classes that encourage participation. The present research aims to determine the incidence of adaptive techniques in the teaching process for students with autism at the Emigdio Esparza Moreno Educational Unit, Babahoyo canton, Los Ríos province - Ecuador. The methodology used was a quantitative approach, with a descriptive type of research, using inductive and deductive methods, in the same way the techniques of interview and observation were used, the observation sheet and the questionnaire were the instruments selected. The sample with which we worked corresponds to students with autism of the Emigdio Esparza Moreno Educational Unit, the teachers and the educational psychologist. The results showed that teaching techniques should be adapted to the visual learning style, because, by presenting images of interest, the autistic student's attention is captured, allowing him/her to acquire new knowledge from personalized strategies. It is important to maintain control in the classroom, this in order to keep the student calm, as they tend to get irritated and deconcentrated by the noise of other classmates, so the classroom should always be in order.
