La educación superior en la sociedad del conocimiento: un estudio de la universidad estatal de Bolívar

Abstract

The study addresses the change of context for Higher Education in the knowledge society and requires us to carry out reforms in the educational system with the purpose of responding to the new challenges posed in the pedagogical model in an intrinsic and extrinsic way in the organizational process of the institutions of the system, since the essential idea is to synthesize the need for a new educational paradigm from a model based on knowledge, to another based on the integral formation of individuals, devoting special attention to the development of methodological skills that extends far beyond a teaching-learning process and that today seeks that universities be able to respond quickly and solvency to the changes that society demands, since today's university is not the same as before, it is a new institution that must adopt new objectives and accommodate flexible mechanisms for continuous adaptation to those objectives, in such consideration n this has allowed an academic argumentation of the changes and transformations that Higher Education is undergoing in the face of the great challenges of the knowledge society, for which it is based on an analysis referring to traditional university models in Europe, North America, Latin America, in our country and particularly in the State University of Bolívar, which has allowed us to determine some alternatives regarding current challenges, with the purpose of serving society, especially what we call knowledge.
