UNIVERSALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION: AN EXPERIENCE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF LAS TUNAS
RESUMEN
La universalización significó una nueva etapa en el desarrollo de la educación superior cubana que dignificó la enseñanza. Al considerar la existencia de insuficiencias en la gestión de la matrícula, desde el ingreso hasta el egreso de los estudiantes que afecta la efectividad del ciclo, se realiza la investigación. Se presenta el comportamiento de la matrícula con el fin estudiar las causales que de manera negativa limitan el sustento a este nivel de enseñanza, como premisa del desarrollo territorial que deberá responder a la estrategia institucional para contribuir a la solución de la problemática y a la consolidación de la gestión universitaria, en el proceso de actualización del modelo económico cubano. Las conclusiones reflejan los aspectos más esenciales de la investigación y la necesidad de continuar el estudio del comportamiento de la matrícula en las universidades, incluye la bibliografía consultada.

ABSTRACT
Universalization meant a new stage in the development of Cuban higher education that dignified teaching. When considering the existence of insufficiencies in the management of enrollment, from the entrance to the exit of students that affects the effectiveness of the cycle, the research is done. It presents the behavior of the enrollment in order to study the causes that in a negative way limit the support to this level of education, as a premise of the territorial development that must respond to the institutional strategy to contribute to the solution of the problem and the consolidation of The university management, in the process of updating the Cuban economic model. The conclusions reflect the most essential aspects of the research and the need to continue studying the behavior of enrollment in universities, including the bibliography consulted.
