Las TIC en las instituciones educativas de la zona 7 del Ecuador. Perspectiva de los docentes

Abstract

The following paper presents the advance of the descriptive study that was done with the purpose of identifying technology hardware and software tools that teachers of basic general and baccalaureate education from Zone 7 (Loja, El Oro and Zamora Chinchipe) of Ecuador, incorporate in their pedagogical task. The target population of the present study, consisted of 744 urban public and fiscal-religious educational institutions of the Zone 7 and a survey was applied to 103 teachers in a probability sampling scheme with a significance .05. The results indicate that, despite of the fact institutions have Internet service, exists a high porcentaje of teachers who indicate that connectivity is insufficient. Most institutions have at least one computer lab, but digital educational resources are lacking. Most of the teachers use the computer, a projector, and a Smart mobile phone as teaching resources in their classes, teachers consider those tools as beneficial for learning. In conclusion, it is necessary to improve the technological equipment of the educational institutions of Zone 7 and the promote the pedagogical use of ICT.
