Abstract

The intention of this study was to evaluate the effects of different levels of banana vinegar (Vb) on the production parameters of broiler chickens, using a completely random design, 160 one-day-old male Cobb 500 chickens were handled in four treatments; drinking water (Ab) without Vb (T0), 1 mL of Vb/L of Ab (T1), 1.5 mL of Vb/L of Ab (T2) and 2 mL of Vb/L of Ab (T1), with four repetitions. The Tukey test at 5% probability was used to compare means. At 42 days, the results showed that chickens that received 1.5 mL of Vb obtained a body weight of 2784.18 gr, and a feed consumption of 4837.26 gr, achieving the best feed conversion (1.74), compared to the other treatments. The mortality was caused by the high temperatures of the zone, without being influenced by the addition of Vb. On the other hand, relations were observed between the time of consumption of Vb, and the level of pH of the duodenum, which admits its investigation in greater detail.
