ÉTICA DEL QUEHACER DOCENTE UNIVERSITARIO: TRASCENDIENDO LO ESTÉTICO Y LO CONVENCIONAL

Abstract

In the current university context, defining what we mean by that of “ethical teachers” is key, and it is because the faculty of the Universities struggles between training students in the framework of research and knowledge, and between being functional to a university system that a profitable subject sees in the student. That implies within the framework of this Article, to place teaching ethics beyond aesthetics, morals and curricular dogmatism, so that it transcends the socio-cultural convention that reduces ethics to acts of formally dressing and acting With a certain stiffness. In that sense, the objective of this research approach is that “teaching ethics” be linked to the essential academic integrity of every teacher, and that it is evidenced in the way in which it directs students, for the achievement of values, of professional skills and a high dose of social responsibility. That is why it is necessary for the teacher to understand that the synergistic integration between ethos and the telos of university education is required, so that he dedicates himself with manifest quality to the task of being a mentor in the global student formation.
