Abstract

This work was carried out in the Olepsa plantation, Golondrinas sector, Esmeraldas province. The main objective is to determine the productive profitability of the use of five technologies in the management of the oil palm plantation and as specific objectives: evaluate pruning cycles and harvests on the production obtained, assess the effects of optimal fertilization on the weight and number of clusters, compare crown weed control techniques and perform an economic analysis of treatments. The experiment was conducted under a randomized complete block design and orthogonal comparisons were made and for the averages the minimum significant difference test (DMS) was applied at (5%). Applying two prunings per year and harvesting every seven days (T3) (17.78%), the production of fresh fruit was increased. The fertilization strategy based on soil and foliar analysis (T4), slightly increased the number of clusters, (5.55%) and total weight (8.38%), in relation to the productive cost using less labor to harvest pruning and fertilizing the (T1) represented a lower cost of (4.07%). The (T5) reached the best marginal profitability rate (976.76%), with a low marginal cost of only $ 48.57 per hectare per year, concluding that by performing two annual pruning, harvest every seven days, fertilize optimally and chemically control weeds in the crown, improves the production and profitability of the six-year-old oil palm
