Abstract

The present investigation focused on the relationship between family communication and the development of skills and abilities in students in the first semester of the initial education career. A quantitative methodology was used, consisting of surveys applied to students. The results showed that family communication plays a crucial role in the development of students' skills and abilities. It was found that students who experience open and effective family communication exhibit higher levels of development in areas such as problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication.  Furthermore, it was evident that family communication also influences students’ motivation and self-esteem. Those who feel supported and listened to by their families show greater motivation to learn and greater self-confidence. These findings suggest that it is important to promote positive and effective family communication from an early age to contribute to students’ holistic development. Early childhood education professionals should promote and support parental involvement in the educational process by providing resources and tools to strengthen communication at home.
