Abstract

The objective of this work is to evaluate the impact of instant digital gratification on the reading-writing learning of eighth-year EGB students at the Manuel Córdova Galarza Educational Unit during the 2024-2025 academic period. Through a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), the research uses a non-experimental documentary and descriptive design. To collect data, surveys, semi-structured interviews and classroom observations were used.

Preliminary results suggest a significant correlation between instant digital gratification and poor performance in reading and writing skills. Students who are frequently exposed to digital stimuli tend to show difficulties in concentrating and retaining information, which affects their academic performance.

The pedagogical proposal developed in this study seeks to counteract these effects, promoting strategies that strengthen students' ability to manage the use of technological devices in a balanced way. Participants are expected to improve not only their reading-writing skills, but also their ability to regulate the use of technologies in a more conscious and responsible way.

In conclusion, this research offers deep insight into the educational challenges posed by instant digital gratification and proposes practical solutions to improve students' academic performance and technological well-being.
