EXPLORACIÓN CONDUCTUAL EN UN NIÑO DE 7 AÑOS CON CONDUCTAS POR EXCESO: UN ESTUDIO DE CASO.

Abstract

Emotional and behavioral regulation problems in children constitute a topic of increasing relevance. Therefore, early and appropriate intervention is essential to understand the needs of the child and their environment. In this sense, the present study aims to develop a functional analysis of the behavior of D, a 7-year-old boy, to identify the factors that influence his problematic behaviors; manifestation of behaviors related to the interruption of classes through mischief, constant search for physical contact and the need to keep busy. The scope of the research is descriptive, based on a qualitative approach with a case study design. According to the analysis carried out, D's behaviors are mainly influenced by his moderate anxiety, which is exacerbated by the lack of affection in the family environment and the strict rules at home and school. The results indicate that D's hyperactive behaviors and need for physical contact are attempts to manage his anxiety and gain approval from authority figures. These behaviors are reinforced by the absence of their parents and the unfounded fear of discipline. In conclusion, the importance of creating a more understanding and flexible environment to help D in his adaptation process is highlighted. Relaxation and gradual exposure techniques are suggested to reduce your anxiety and improve your self-control, which could facilitate your emotional and behavioral development.
