Abstract

The current society in which we live has access to all kinds of information through various technological instruments, which is very beneficial when it comes to being informed, however, it has also had a negative effect because through them information circulates that undermines people's self-esteem. This research work aims to analyze the impact of bullying on the self-esteem of 5th grade students at the Adolfo María Astudillo Educational Unit located in the province of Los Ríos The methodology used was the qualitative approach, and the inductive and deductive method was used. Direct observation and a survey specially designed for the study were used to collect information The population selected for this study included all fifth grade students at the institution under study, totaling 32. The results obtained indicate a diversity of experiences in relation to bullying, covering traditional and emerging forms. Perceptions of the school environment vary, highlighting the complexity of interactions in the educational setting. It is noteworthy that a significant percentage of students experience a negative impact on their self-esteem due to bullying. Information on bullying reveals the need to strengthen awareness among students.
