BORDERLINE PERSONALITY IN ADOLESCENCE: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract
The purpose of the research was to systematize the evidence about the development of BPD in adolescents through a bibliographic review of original studies. The process was implemented using the PRISMA methodology. The theoretical level methods used were: analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive. Two main questions and five source selection criteria were used to establish the search strategy. The keywords in Spanish and English were chosen from the DeCS/MeSH terms. The search was carried out in the bases: SciELO, Dialnet, Web of Science, Springer, ERIC, Scopus and PubMed. The quality and rigor of the sources was assessed by applying the NHLBI-NIH Study Quality Assessment Tools scale. Of the 59 articles initially found, 14 were definitively selected, predominating those located in PubMed (27). No research developed in Latin America, Asia or Africa was found. The predisposing factors or the appearance of characteristics of this pathology must be observed from childhood and early adolescence; requiring the participation of the actors in the family and school.
