Abstract

The primary purpose of the Ecuadorian constitution is to extend the safeguarding of rights to all components of a family unit. Article 69 of the Magna Carta of Ecuador suggests conscious paternity and maternity, establishing duties such as protection, training, instruction, complete development and protection of the rights of their descendants. To achieve this purpose, the research focused on fundamental aspects such as: the identification of the main types of domestic accidents that affected children under 5 years of age in the study area, so this knowledge allows directing preventive efforts towards the risks. more frequent and dangerous.The research carried out revealed that parents have a brief level of knowledge about the risks and preventive measures, the incidence of accidents remains high with falls standing out as the most common type. The intervention of the nursing staff in the town shows that there are important areas that require improvement, because there is a significant percentage of parents who indicated not having received adequate information with the quality of the education received.The findings of this research highlight the fundamental importance of nursing staff in reducing accidents at home, because there is a notable prevalence in the population studied that has had to be taken to the emergency room, which underlines the need to improve prevention strategies. prevention.
