The Millennials and Centennials: how they are informed and consume
Downloads
Abstract
The present work is based on the research carried out on the characteristics of generations Y (millennials) and Z (centennials) in terms of how they are informed and consumed. Both generations have grown up in a digital and highly connected environment, which has influenced their preferences and consumption habits. They also prefer to get news and content through digital channels like social media, news apps, and blogs, rather than relying on traditional sources like TV or newspapers. Regarding consumption, millennials and centennials are known for their demand and awareness of quality. They research and compare products and services online before making a purchase, relying on reviews and recommendations from other users. In addition, they value personalization, authenticity and sustainability, opting for brands that reflect their values and engage them in a meaningful way. Generations Y and Z also show a preference for experience rather than possession. They opt for rent, exchange and subscription instead of traditional purchase. In addition, they value brands and products with a social and environmental purpose, and are willing to pay more for them. In short, generations Y and Z have transformed the way in which information is reported and consumed. His focus is on technology, social networks and active participation in the creation of brand identity.
