Reactivación de medios de vida mediante la implementación de un corredor ecoturístico comunitario en San Vicente, Manabí

Abstract

The present investigation describes the implementation of a community ecotourism corridor in the San Vicente canton of the Manabí province as a response to various problems in the canton. The main objective of the study is to focus on preserving both natural resources and the environment, as well as economic development, sustainable tourism, social and cultural inclusion, and the improvement of the canton's infrastructure. The methodology was developed in several phases, such as diagnosis of the study area, zoning and creation of ecotourism routes, preparation of tourist resource guides, development of a virtual platform, comprehensive program in the promotion and marketing of tourist packages, training, and development of a management plan for the EC-SV Corridor. The results highlight the richness of both natural and cultural resources of the San Vicente canton. However, there are limitations such as contamination and the loss of ancestral knowledge. 5 tourist packages based on the characteristics of the territory were designed, training was also carried out to improve the level of management of local tourism. In addition, promotional materials and management strategies for the sustainable development of the EC-SV Corridor were prepared. The study highlights the value of sustainable management that involves local communities and respects both the canton's natural and cultural environment, while demonstrating the potential of ecotourism in the canton. The EC-SV Corridor is an example of sustainable development that can be extended to other regions, creating resources and benefiting all parties in the tourism industry.
