“Análisis económico financiero y de sensibilidad de la producción de tilapia (Oreochromis spp.) en la región Amazónica Ecuatoriana”

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis spp.) is a species cultivated in several tropical areas of the world, including the Ecuadorian Amazon region, of greater interest for its white meat and without thorns, being in greater demand in aquaculture due to its rapid growth, it also tolerates high densities, adapts in captivity and is highly resistant to disease. At present, the need to systematize the costs and income of tilapia production has been evidenced to show whether the activity is profitable considering financial indicators. The main objective of this work was to analyze economic, financial, and financial sensitivity aspects of tilapia production in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. The descriptive non-experimental method was used with a quantitative approach, where it was worked from a bibliographic review of secondary and tertiary sources, using the Excel program to process the data. Determining an initial investment cost of $ 27,800.85 and annual production cost of $ 34,069.69 representing the food item with 65% that generates more costs in production, concluding that the project is profitable with a net present value of $ 17,896.84 and the internal rate of return of 36%.
