Saberes ancestrales: una revisión para fomentar el rescate y revalorización en las comunidades indígenas del Ecuador

Abstract

The ancestral knowledge is focused on medicine, forestry gastronomy, handicraft construction, ancestral languages, conservation techniques, microclimates, production and food, agriculture, irrigation, among others. They are important since they allow a way of living and remembering the uses, customs and traditions that the ancestors have left over time. In order to analyze the knowledge and how to promote its rescue and revaluation, information based on scientific studies was collected and analyzed in different databases such as Web of Science, Open Journal System; as well as relevant articles from Google Scholar. Articles directed to the area of ​​gastronomy, medicinal plants, ancestral languages, handicrafts, ancestral agriculture and the environment were grouped together, so in this context it can be concluded that ancestral knowledge encompasses a great variety of knowledge and techniques that must be protected and promoted; recognized and consolidated for the benefit of all humanity and present and future generations.
