La música como herramienta intercultural en las aulas de clases

Abstract

Conscious or unconscious discrimination is a latent problem in the schools of Ecuador; which is intimately related to racism or social - cultural or religious ideology and that without any scientific support is justified to exercise domination, exclusion and racial - cultural supremacy of some peoples over others. This article analyzes the implementation of the subject of music within the public or private Educational Units of Ecuador, since they provide favorable tools that contribute to the development and valuation of interculturality and at the same time it favors having spaces in which there are no barriers of discrimination due to their social, economic, religious and emotional condition. The research had a qualitative approach to the work developed where different techniques were used for its development, such as discussion groups, participant observation and in-depth interviews. Among the results obtained, the need to develop skills such as collaborative work such as discipline, the ability to express ideas, awareness and appreciation for organized sound patterns, enjoy the feeling of individual and collective achievement, among others, was evidenced. which will allow an approach between students of the same age by their classification by years of basic education regardless of social class, gender or cultural roots.
