Abstract

The objective of this study was the characterization of agro-industrial residues such as passion fruit peel, banana peel, passion fruit seed, rice cake and corn cake for use as inputs in animal feed. For this, the following variables protein, fiber, moisture, ash, fat and energy were analyzed. Comparison of means was performed using the Student's t method and the relationship between protein, fiber, moisture, ash, fat and energy was estimated using Pearson's correlation technique. The correspondence analysis measured the association of the nutritional content of the inputs studied. The results show that there was no correlation, in protein it was -0.09 (p˂0.05 0.8861), in fiber it was -0.66 (p˂0.05 0.2246), in humidity it was of -0.34 (p˂0.05 0.5748), in ash it was -0.15 (p˂0.05 0.813), in fat it was -0.12 (p˂0.05 0.8494), in energy was 0.49 (p˂0.05 0.3997), fat and ash explain the nutritional variables with better association with respect to the others. In conclusion, based on the results obtained, these inputs prove to be a nutritional alternative for animal feed.
