INCIDENCIAS PARA IMPLEMENTAR UNA PLANTA DOMÉSTICA PARA MEJORAR LA CALIDAD DEL AGUA POTABLE EN UN SECTOR EMERGENTE DEL CANTÓN BABAHOYO

Abstract

This research was carried out in an emerging sector of the city of Babahoyo called "Black Door" consisting of the manufacture of two designs of water purification plants at home level, to determine the best treatment, and thus improve the quality of distributed water by the Municipal Company of Environmental Sanitation of Babahoyo, EMSABA SA, these designs are structured in two sections, the first one maintains as a pre-filtration unit the Aluminum Sulfate and the second design has Zeolite, in the second section as the filtration unit the The first design has gravel, sand and activated carbon, while the second has calcium and sodium hypochlorite. 15 water samples were collected, structured as follows: (a) five samples of raw water (water entering the plants); (b) five samples of water treated by a first design; (c) five samples of water treated by a second design. These samples were collected and transported according to INEN 1108 and processed in the laboratory using methodologies described in "Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater". For the physicochemical and microbiological samples of the water, a principal components analysis was applied identifying the most important parameters (variation), to the most relevant parameters, tests of one and two samples of Man U. Whitman and Wilcoxon , which corroborated that the best treatment was obtained by the number one design, contributing in this way with research that collaborates with the social, sanitary and environmental development of our city.
