Irrigation scheduling in growing pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) using Class A pan evaporation in Rio Verde, Santa Elena, Ecuador

Abstract
The research aimed to evaluate the effect of different 40% irrigation sheets; 60%; 80%; 100% and 120% of crop evapotranspiration (ETc) using the evaporation tub class A, applied with a drip irrigation system on the pepper's agricultural yield. The randomized complete block design with five treatments and five replicas was used; The treatment means were compared according to Tukey (≤ 5%). The agricultural yield of the 80%, 100% and 120% treatments of Evapotranspiration showed statistical similarity. Regarding deficit irrigation, 80% of ETc 46166.2 kgha-1 treatment stands out; 40% and 60% treatments reached yields greater than 39 tons per hectare, with efficiencies of 49.83 and 35.59 kgm-3 respectively. The regression analysis indicates the maximum average yield expressed in the quadratic equation for the ETc sheet 107%, the coefficient of determination is 0.95. The economic analysis shows the treatment 80% with a marginal return rate higher than the other variants Irrigation under study.
