Evaluación del Sistema de Alcantarillado Sanitario y Pluvial de La Facultad de Ciencias Matemáticas y Físicas de la Universidad de Guayaquil

Abstract

The evaluation of sanitary and storm sewer systems has been carried out based on the physical inspections in the existing facilities in the faculty, as well as their operation and relating it to the current growth of the student population. In addition, measurements were taken of sanitary appliances installed, number of wastewater and sewage discharge boxes. Satisfaction and use of faculty bathrooms surveys were carried out in order to measure the degree of satisfaction of the user in relation to the current facilities. The objective of the present investigation was to determine the current situation of the health systems and, based on the results, to propose improvements in each system in the short and long term. When carrying out the physical inspections in the tanks, it was evident that the capacity of the tanks covers a 30% water demand, an amount that is insufficient due to the high student demand that has increased year by year.From the tabulation and the statistical analysis made with the surveys it was possible to determine that there is currently a coverage of 40% in the health system for the male student population (toilets and toilets).
