DIAGNÓSTICO DE LA EXISTENCIA Y USO DE LAS MAQUINARIAS E IMPLEMENTOS AGRÍCOLAS EN EL CANTÓN MONTALVO, PROVINCIA DE LOS RÍOS

Abstract

The imperative need to recognize the inventory of agricultural machinery and farm implements in the province of Los Rios, argues the realization of this research. The results of a study carried out in the canton of Montalvo, Ecuador, are presented. The objective of this research was to evaluate the existence, use and technical condition of agricultural machinery and implements in this territory. The methodology used was based on a descriptive non-experimental approach with the support of descriptive inferential statistics, through 100 surveys of producers in the area. The results were tabulated using Excel spreadsheets, which revealed that the machinery and implements used were the tractor, combine harvester, sprayer, harrow, fertilizer spreader, plow, harrower and planter. It is important to note that there is a low level of technical advice from public and private companies. In addition, it was found that 88% of this machinery is rented because most of the production units have areas of up to 5 hectares. Regarding the condition of the machines, it was observed that 100% were being used in poor technical condition but were still fulfilling their work purpose. Regarding the power of the tractors, they ranged from 100 to 110 hp with 46%, regarding the harvesters the most used power was from 100 to 110 hp with 40%.
