Determinación de somatotipo en los estudiantes deportistas de la carrera de nutrición y dietética de la universidad técnica de babahoyo, noviembre 2022 - abril 2023.

Abstract

The present investigation allowed us to know the visual state of those attending the socialization of the second International Congress of Health Sciences II- CICS 2023, aimed at students, teachers and administrative staff of the Technical University of Babahoyo. Taking into account that the general objective of the research is to determine the somatotype of student athletes studying nutrition and dietetics at the Technical University of Babahoyo November 2022 April 2023. In this project the methodology that was carried out is exploratory and descriptive, of a qualitative-quantitative nature because exploratory studies are carried out when the objective is to examine a poorly studied topic or research problem, about which various doubts are raised or which have not been previously addressed. This type of research allowed to become familiar with the respective practice, which in turn helped to carry out a survey with which a general idea of what was investigated regarding the taking of measures and descriptive type studies the facilitation of the evaluation of some characteristics of the student athletes of the Babahoyo technical university, such as their norms and measures for determining the somato type and thus being able to investigate the most predominant one.

It was possible to determine the predominant somatotype in the students of the nutrition and dietetics major, it was evident that mesomorphism is mostly present, with a representation of 56.76%, which is equivalent to 21 students.
