Abstract

This project responds to the research question how does the Organic Law of Ecuador promotes cultural diversity, for that purpose it is approached with a qualitative approach methodology and the method used is the documentary review because it allowed the analysis of documents prior to the approval of the Organic Law of Communication of Ecuador, admission of the same and its subsequent reforms. The technique used is observation and it allowed the use of a registration form as an instrument where it was possible to see how the implementation of the Organic Law of Communication of Ecuador benefited the promotion of cultural diversity, through the various programs that are and have been in the media of Ecuador and that promote or have promoted cultural diversity. Ecuador's Organic Law of Communication plays a crucial role in promoting cultural diversity in communication by recognizing and protecting the rights of indigenous, Afro-Ecuadorian and Montubio groups to create and share content that reflects their cultures and knowledge. The need for greater coherence between the law and the protection of cultural diversity, including a review to ensure the equitable participation of different groups and the variety of perspectives in the media. The law establishes the obligation of the media to dedicate space to cultural content of these groups, which increases their visibility and recognition.
