Feasibility study for the creation of a dialysis center in the city of Quevedo

Abstract
The increase in the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy (RTR) has been driven by technological advances and the clinical management of these procedures. This project is structured in four chapters. The first addresses the theories and concepts related to the creation of a dialysis center. The second highlights the main international feasibility studies and hemodialysis. The third chapter presents the methodology used after reviewing the literature, and finally a dialysis center is proposed with a technical-financial study. The methodology used in this study is descriptive and focuses on analyzing the characteristics of a specific phenomenon. A convenience sampling was used to collect data through surveys applied in health institutions in the city of Quevedo, province of Los Ríos. A total of 137 surveys were collected. The results indicate that chronic kidney disease affects approximately 10% of the world population and can only be prevented, not cured. Demographic data and results of surveys carried out on patients with kidney disease in Quevedo are presented, showing the distribution by gender, age, treatment time, employment status, family situation, hospitalizations and the perception of improvement in quality of life.
