Abstract
The vocabulary acquisition in English learning is as important for its correct use as the grammar practice. The present study focuses on the Nearpod platform use to improve grammar and vocabulary skills in students, through a 14-week university course, at the A2 level. Four courses were chosen, with a sample of 30 students per course belonging to the Technical University of Babahoyo, these courses were divided into two groups: control and experiment. A pre-test questionnaire was carried out at the beginning of the course and a post-test questionnaire at the end of it. The results show that there is a significant difference between the means of both groups, as in vocabulary and grammar, when the experiment group obtained an average score of 14.80 and 15.80, respectively, and for the control group the average was 12.97 and 10.63, also respectively. It is concluded that Nearpod is a full support tool for the learning process and the student performance improvement, thus, it is easily accessible and clear for teachers. We strongly recommend its use, as well as we we seek to incentive further research in this important area.
