Contextos de etnoeducación Palenquera en Cartagena, Colombia: Ma-kuagro en la escuela

Abstract

This presentation presents the context of ethnoeducation in Cartagena based on the possibilities of Ma-kuagro experience at school. It is recognized that an important part of the Palenquera population has settled in Cartagena for decades, mainly driven by access to work and higher education. In this context, the settled Palenqueros have had to choose to educate their sons and daughters in the regular schools of the city. It seeks to problematize the relationships between the developments and scope of Afro-Colombian ethnoeducation and how they collect the Palenquera cultural expression Ma-kuagro de San Basilio de Palenque for its transmission and survival, both in the curriculum and in the ethno-educational didactic.
