Evaluación diagnóstica a nivel sostenibilidad del Centro de Turismo Comunitario “INDICHURIS”, perteneciente a la Amazonía del Ecuador

Abstract

The present study was carried out in the Community Tourism Center "INDICHURIS" located in the Pomona parish belonging to the Pastaza province corresponding to the Amazon of Ecuador. The perspective of the students of the Hospitality and Tourism career of the fourth semester towards the search tours that are carried out within the syllabus programming, is essential to strengthen the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate the motivation of the students of the Hospitality and Tourism career of the Technical University of Babahoyo, Quevedo Extension as an opportunity to learn about sustainable tourism. Three stages were considered for the evaluation: the first consisted of a Participatory Rural Diagnosis (PRA) where the problems were detected qualitatively through a matrix; The second stage was understood to measure the degree of motivation of the students about the tourist offer through a “Multistep Model” which is based on the classification of qualitative information such as official reports, direct information collection tools; where a Likert scale was used to know the satisfaction category where it was reflected that the Community Tourism Center is in the Satisfactory category (40.5%) and Very Satisfactory (58.9%) respectively. The third stage consisted of a characterization of the place at the level of the sustainability dimension in the middle category. Therefore, it is recommended to determine the critical points of sustainability to know the current situation of the destination in all dimensionality.
