Evaluación educativa: conceptualización, extensión y significado

Abstract

In this research, different definitions of the concept of educational evaluation are addressed. Some of the topics included in the addresses associated with this category are discussed. The idea of ​​evaluation from a comprehensive approach is defended due to its complexity; since it presupposes sub-processes that go from the establishment of the objectives or purposes, the delimitation and characterization of the object of evaluation, the definition (selection, elaboration) and application of the evaluation instruments for the collection of information, the processing and analysis of said information, its interpretation and expression in an evaluative judgment, information and decision-making. The dimensions of the object to be evaluated, the difficulty to be operationalized and verified "objectively"; the overestimation of certain instruments and techniques, and the undervaluation of others; The non-consideration of sources and evaluation agents such as the subject itself is of vital importance; among others, consequences of this vision that affect evaluative practice and its results. According to the types of evaluation, it is classified according to criteria that are used for the execution of the formative and summative evaluation.
