Abstract

Inventory control is essential for the existence of commercial companies, on these depend the financial income that helps to meet the goals projected by the entity. An internal control evaluation was carried out in the warehouse of the trading company Portugal, which made it possible to detect inherent risks in the empirical system applied for inventory management. The Japanese management model of the 5 "S" was proposed to improve the level of control and thus mitigate the reduction of risks; This model consists of the application of policies and procedures that allow a consistent control of the activities carried out in the processes of reception, delivery of merchandise, and the process of physical inventory control.
