Abstract

The control of merchandise inventories is a fundamental part for commercial economic growth; With the appropriate records of income, expenses and returns of the products, there is knowledge of the stocks in the warehouse, a useful and necessary tool for the correct decision-making; without tight inventory control, businesses are disadvantaged and doomed. The objective of this study was to develop an inventory control system that guarantees the correct decision-making process in small and medium-sized companies in the city of Babahoyo. The methodology was made up of qualitative and quantitative modalities. The types of research were bibliographic, explanatory, descriptive and correlational; methods used: analytical-synthetic, inductive and deductive; interview and survey techniques; the tools or instruments applied were questionnaire, computer, printer, existing technology; The results served the management for the application of a registry and inventory control system, use of the Kardex to control the entry and exit of goods and know the whole process for the correct management decision-making
