Abstract

The situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in the year 2020 caused quite a few problems, among them was the fall in the price of oil in the month of April of that year. This document aims to analyze the ravages that caused the price of oil to reach negative values using different sources of information with statistical data to review why it occurred, how much the amount of loss was and how the situation affected economically on the Ecuadorian country. Among the results obtained will be various graphs and tables that explain the situation that was presented, as well as a retrospective of Ecuador as an oil exporting country, and how it shows different results than expected in previous years in GDP and oil barrels sold respectively.
