Abstract

The policies that are committed to providing the elderly with well-being and quality of

life tend to privilege attention to physical health and access to certain rights that are

assumed as an alternative in the fulfillment of the social responsibility that is assumed

with those who we they precede and have created the wealth that the later generation now

enjoys. However, one of the aspects that are not prioritized are comprehensive actions to

preventor overcome the cognitive deterioration thatis typicalofold age and thatdemands

the prolongation of the stimulation of perception, attention and memory at this stage of

life. The project "Usability and accessibility strategies of recreational technological tools

to improve the cognitive capacity of the elderly in the Clemente Baquerizo and Camilo

Ponce parishes of the Babahoyo canton" that is developed at the UTB in Ecuador,

emphasizes this aspect and as part of the The study carried out presents key ideas that

support the proposals that are being prepared for this purpose.
